Using the iManage Integration with Harvey
Learn how to use Harvey’s native iManage integration and web extension to securely access, upload, and export documents across your workspace.

Overview
There are two ways to use the iManage integration with Harvey:
- From Harvey: Upload documents directly from iManage into your Harvey workspace.
- From iManage: Send documents to Harvey to query immediately, then view responses and ask follow-up questions within Harvey.
Your workspace admin must enable each option before you can use it.
First-time Set Up
Authenticating iManage
Note: You only need to complete these authentication steps the first time you use the iManage integration.
Before you can begin using the integration, follow the steps below to authenticate your individual iManage account:
- Click the Connect button in Harvey’s Integrations settings.
- This will launch a secure OAuth flow prompting you to log in to iManage and grant permission to access your documents.
- Once authenticated, your iManage file picker will be embedded directly in the Harvey interface—allowing you to browse, select, and upload files without leaving the platform.

How to Upload to iManage
- In Harvey, click the file upload button where supported (e.g. Assistant, Vault, or Workflows).
- Select iManage from the available upload options.
- Use the embedded file picker to browse and select documents from authorized iManage workspaces.
- Continue your work as usual—Harvey now has secure access to the selected documents.
How to Export to iManage
- After generating content (e.g. a draft, memo, or diligence report), click Export.
- Choose iManage as the export location.
- You’ll have the option to choose a specific folder location in iManage, or, create a new version of an existing file.
- Click the Export button to finish uploading your file to iManage.
Use Harvey within iManage
While in iManage, quickly select documents and start a query using the Harvey in iManage web extension. Watch our video overview or follow the written steps below.
How to Ask Harvey Within iManage
- From iManage > My Documents, select or right-click on the files you wish to query.
- Select the Harvey extension from the menu bar.
- Type your query into the prompt window, or select from the prompt library.
- [Optional] Click Improve to allow magic prompt to enhance your query.
- You’ll be redirected to Harvey where you can review citations and ask follow-ups questions.
